Case Study of Employee Investigation

Private Detective does regular employee investigation for many corporate companies. They want to know about the employee's background before they appoint in responsible positions in their company. But some other clients who do not do this exercise of employee verification, have some issues later to approach us for investigation. One such case is detailed below.

A middle-aged person who is working as the head of a local branch of a big software company approached one of our branch offices. He was very upset and was afraid to say the issue even after coming to our office. But when we assured him that everything spoken between us would be strictly confidential, he started talking.

One of a female employee working in his branch of the big software company is threatening him for sexual charges. He seems to be his secretary who has to work with him all the time together in the office. Due to her unsatisfactory work, he has sometimes been harsh to her and even issued some oral warnings. Recently on one such occasion, she had threatened him that she would file sexual harassment charges against him with the police and the company. The person said he is a god-fearing family man with kids. In the last few days, her threats have increased, and seeing him fearing for it, she started to demand a considerable amount of money to not to press sexual charges against him. Not knowing what to do, the person has approached us now.

We started our investigation and found that the said woman was in her late twenties and still unmarried. She is living with her mother as her father had died a few years ago. Her mother was mentally ill, and she had to take care of her all the time with the help of caretakers and medications. On further investigations, we found that she is also a lavish spender with lots of money spent on many luxury items and others. All these made us conclude that she is in constant need of money all the time.

From investigation on her previous employments in other companies, we found a similar rumored occurrence of her pressing charges and claiming money. The proprietor of the company has given money to send her away from the company. Though there is no enough proof on it, many of the other employees confirm it. We gave a detailed report to the client and asked him to take necessary action against her as she will not press charges of sexual harassment. We came to that conclusion because of her ailing mother and the woman's constant need for money. Now she is transferred to another branch of the software company, and our client works with peace and happiness.

We gave a detailed report to the wife, and she, with her parents, help mobilized some money and convinced the NRI to get the balance money later on a monthly basis. Somehow coming to know of the developments, the missing person was back with the family now.
